Goldeneye

******************************
5. Gadgets
******************************

Covert Modem
Level: Dam

The covert modem is something you attach to the screen just beyond the first alarm in the dam. You must do this before completing objective C, and you only get one, so make sure you aim with the crosshair.

Remote Mines
Levels: Facility, Surface 2, 15, 16

The remote mine is, to put it bluntly, cool. You throw one and sticks to a wall or floor or ceiling, and you detonate it with your watch. Very important for multiplayer! You can quickly detonate mines using A+B very quickly on your mines' weapon screen. You will utterly demolish someone in multiplayer if they don't know about this.

Datathief
Level: Bunker 1

The datathief is something you use to download data from the computer in the first bunker. When you see "Downloading data" appear on the screen, load up your KF7, and run like hell to the exit.

Key Analyzer
Level: Bunker 1

This is disguised as a briefcase to analyze and copy the Goldeneye key. Make sure you don't take it (the Goldeneye key) with you on the way out.

Camera
Level: Bunker 1, Silo

In the first bunker and the silo, you must snap pictures of things. You won't complete the objective if you don't get the whole thing in, so make sure the objective is completed before leaving. By the way, you have unlimited film.

Plastique
Level: Silo

These plastic explosives are the reason you want to haul ass in the silo on Secret Agent and 00 Agent. If you're still in the silo when they go off, you are dead. Period.

Bomb Defuser
Level: Frigate

You must use this to render the bombs on the frigate useless. Press Z to defuse them, or press B to get thrown out of MI6.

Tracking Bug
Level: Frigate

Probably the easiest thing in the game. Get the tracking bug out, and throw it on the helicopter. You're pathetic if you need to use the crosshair.

Magnet Watch Attract
Levels: Bunker 2, Archives

In the second bunker you have to use your watch to get the key. You can also use this in the archives to get your gun and clip simultaneously, but I personally prefer a different method.

Proximity Mines
Level: Depot

This is great for multiplayer. Attach it like the remote mines and give it a few seconds to get it charged up. Then wait for an enemy to walk by.....

Watch Laser
Level: Train

You use this in the train to melt off a part of the floor and make your escape. It can be used as a weapon, but its limited ammo and range make it very ineffective.

Grenades
Level: Hard to tell

Grenades are..... grenades. So many enemies use them (sometime very stupidly) it's hard to tell which levels. It has about a five-second fuse on it, but you can shorten it by holding Z. Hold on it too long.......

Timed Mines
Level: Caverns

Timed mines are basically grenades that stick. You can't shorten the time of the fuse though.

3.5 Diskette
Level: Aztec

Use this to redirect the flight route of the shuttle in the Aztec complex.

DAT
Level: Silo, Aztec

The DAT in the silo must be kept, but in the complex it must be loaded into the terminal to initiate the countdown sequence.
