Gamecube Delay?

Everyone knows that the last thing Nintendo needs in the battle for console supremacy is for the Gamecube to be delayed.  Unfortunately, rumors are starting to surface that the Gamecube may not be released until sometime in 2002.

The rumor stems from the latest issue of Next-Gen magazine.  In it an unnamed source at Nintendo is quoted as saying that programming for the Gamecube has proven more difficult than originally anticipated.  When you consider this along with the fact that Nintendo doesn't really want to go head-to-head with the Xbox (heck, they don't even like to release two of their own games at the same time), it's beginning to look like a Gamecube delay could be possible.  If we find out more we'll be sure to let you know.
