British computer games company Rage Software Plc said on Thursday it had entered into a licensing agreement with Nintendo, the world's second largest maker of game machines.
The pact will enable Rage to develop and publish a range of products on the Game Boy platform worldwide. Game Boy has sold in excess of 100 million units worldwide.
Rage shares were up almost two percent at 13-1/4 pence in early trading after the news hit the market.
The agreement with Nintendo is part of Rage's on-going strategy to
develop and publish a wide range of interactive gaming content on established and emerging console platforms.
Separately, Rage has also entered into an agreement with Jester, a leading independent games developer, to license and publish a new version of its 'Music' franchise designed specifically for the Nintendo Game Boy platform.
Rage plans to release three original titles for the Game Boy platform in the second half of 2001 and will look to work closely with Nintendo on maximising its product through all distribution channels.
