GBA Announcements
January
6, 2001
Well,
it certainly didn't take long did it? As soon as we hit the year
2001, GBA news started pouring out of developers' mouths (perhaps the
NDA agreements expired?).
The
latest news to hit is that Warthog has announced that they've secured
the rights to create games using the Tiny Toon Adventures
license. This includes one Game Boy Color game (which will be
released sometime in Q1 2001); as well as one Game Boy Advance game.
The Game Boy Advance game is tentatively titled Tiny Toons Wacky
Stackers, which is a puzzle game with support for up to four players.
Vice President Phil Gaskell said, "The license has a great flexibility
and many appealing features. The characters are especially fun to work with, the
humor in the cartoons has quite an adult edge to it at times and consequently we
have been able to maintain that in the games. Warner Brothers is a very
encouraging licensor and is the best we've worked with."
In
other GBA news, THQ has secured the license for Nickelodeon's upcoming
movie Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and will be bringing it to the
GBA. The CG movie is scheduled for a November release, and
therefore so is the GBA game.
