Zelda Unveiled
August 23, 2001

Nintendo has unveiled the other big franchise everyone wanted to see: Zelda.

Zelda was certainly the surprise of the show, as it features cel-shaded graphics in the same style as Jet Grind Radio.  We'll reserve judgement on the graphics for now, but it will no doubt have some Zelda fans up in arms.

Of course, one could speculate that, since the demo shown at E3 is so radically different from what we're seeing here, there could actually be two separate Zelda games in development.  The possibility also exists that cel-shading is only used when controlling Young Link (with normal graphics for the Adult Link).  This is all speculation of course.

Zelda is currently on track for a Christmas 2002 release.
