Universal Ships Monster Force
August 22, 2002

Universal Interactive, Inc., a studio of the Games division of Vivendi Universal Publishing, announced today that its original interactive entertainment title "Monster Force" for Game Boy Advance has shipped to retailers nationwide.

The action-adventure game stars three classic Universal movie monsters, Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolf Man, in the form of their teenage personas, Frank, Drac and Wolfie. "Monster Force" chronicles the monsters' heroic efforts to defeat a mysterious army of Pumpkin Warriors that has seized their adopted homeland.

"Monster Force" is playable in either single- or multi-player mode. As Frank, Drac or Wolfie, players collect power-ups, perfect special attack moves unique to each character, perform skill tests, and participate in a ranking system—all the while battling bats, ghosts, ninjas and other forms of evil in more than 30 creature-infested levels.

"Inspired by the lasting appeal of Universal's classic movie monsters, Universal Interactive has transformed some of the biggest names in horror into handheld gaming heroes," said Jim Wilson, president of Universal Interactive. "'Monster Force' offers an entertaining gameplay experience with exciting multi-player action and some hidden treasures."

"Monster Force" was developed by Digital Eclipse Software, Inc., developers of Universal Interactive's award-winning 2001 release "Spyro: Season of Ice." The game has been rated E for Everyone with mild violence by the ESRB. Further information about "Monster Force" is available at
