Mario Kart Pre-Order Bonus
September 10, 2003

Just like with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Nintendo has decided to throw in another bonus disk with a new game.  Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart: Double Dash!! will come with a pre-order bonus.  However, contrary to speculation, the free disk does not appear to be a copy of Mario Kart 64 for the GameCube.  A Nintendo representative at a press release stated,

"The offer gives customers who reserve an advanced copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for Nintendo GameCube a chance to test-drive a bonus preview disc loaded with movies and demos of upcoming Nintendo GameCube titles. The special offer is effective immediately at select retailers."

No information was given on the exact contents of the disk, but we can assume that it will be promising.  More information will probably arrive as the game’s release date comes closer.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is scheduled to ship on November 17.  The game was first revealed at E3 2003 in May.  Along with other twists, this newest installment of the Mario Kart series contains go-karts that hold two riders.  It will also support multiplayer over a broadband connection.
