It's a village in the game, and you tend to spend a lot of time there to do shopping and talking and stuff. It just...it just keeps going. It won't stop.

It doesn't help that it's really short and loops incessantly.

Speaking of Mana games, I've been playing Legend of Mana a lot the past few days and I'm absolutely in love with the sound track. The dungeon theme is hands down the best track I've ever heard in an RPG, no exceptions.

Seiken Densetsu 2 was of course my favourite, still get chills while listening to the intro...

Regular old battle music in 'Super Mario RPG' is such a classic. Major-key up-tempo radness. I love it to bits, homey. Good old SMRPG. Yeah.

^ SMRPG is so great. It's one of the few RPGs I've played numerous times despite there being no alternate ending. A direct sequel would be nice.

Yikes I tend to make the cutoff a fair bit earlier, but I guess I'm getting old.
Well, Chrono Trigger in that case.
If we push it back to like, 80s only, maybe Snatcher for the MSX?

Wacky Work bench Bad Future, Metallic Madness Present, and Quartz Quadrant Past are my favorites from that soundtrack.
The only track I think was better in the US version was Stardust Speedway Bad Future, it gives off more of a "fated duel" vibe.

I FORGOT TO MENTION MOTHER 1 (or maybe hadn't played it yet) IN MY EARLIER POST
I ADORE MOTHER 1'S SOUNDTRACK
BEIN' FRIENDS IS THE PUREST **** I LOVE IT SO MUCH
the vocal version is one of the weirdest greatest pieces ever composed but the in-game version is just SO UPBEAT AND MAKES ME SMILE:
