You know what I’ve always found interesting? When kids’ shows make references to decidedly non-kid-friendly shows/movies.

Like that episode of Arthur that referenced South Park.

I haven't watched 'Space Jam' in over twenty years, but I distinctly remember the weird 'Pulp Fiction' reference.

...I'm fine with it. Looney Tunes never didn't have occasional jokes that would go over kids' heads. I mean, the Looney Tunes and Tom&Jerry and Popeye shorts first came along in the thirties, before teevee was a thing. They'd show up in movie theatres before the feature, so they had to be entertaining for all ages. (I think they had it right back then. God knows I'd rather watch a couple two-reelers, maybe a Silly Symphony and a Three Stooges short, than thirty minutes of trailers for movies I couldn't give a tin sh*t about if you paid me.)

...I should rewatch 'Space Jam'. Probably a lot of the humour went over my head when I was fourteen. It's probably a lot better than I remember.
