Confess your video game sins.

I used to play a lot of The Sims 2, and one day I decided I wanted to create a cemetery. To accomplish this, I built a small house on a large lot, filled it with wooden furniture, and placed a fireplace or two inside. I would then move a family into the lot, force everyone inside the building, and remove the door. I'd make my Sims light the fireplaces repeatedly until one of the hazardously-placed pieces of furniture caught flame, spreading into an inferno that would consume everything and everyone. With everyone dead, I would move their remains outside, restock the furniture inside the building, move a new family into the lot, and repeat the process until I had my cemetery, populated by several dozen murdered Sims.

I've chucked so many baby penguins off of Cool, Cool Mountain I've lost count.

The most fun I had with the Dinosaur Digs expansion for Zoo Tycoon was in creating my own Jurassic Park scenarios. For added fun, I would stick a boulder or other large obstacle in front of the zoo's exit to prevent anyone from escaping once I let the dinosaurs loose.

I don't like Breath of the Wild, and I genuinely hope that the next Zelda game will go back to the traditional formula.

I play Smash Bros primarily with a Wiimote and nunchuk.

I always cheese my Professional runs of RE4 by putting Ashley in the suit of armor.

I have a little over 80 games I've barely played (if at all) and still tell myself I'm eventually going to finish in my backlog.

I reached the final boss in Chrono Trigger and the last dungeon in Final Fantasy VI, but I never finished either of them.

Not that I nor 90% of other people actually care about Steam achievements, but the second rarest one I have is from a glitch. It's for maxing out a character in Shogun 2's multiplayer, and despite playing a ton of that game, I've never even gone into the multiplayer lobby.

I don't like it either, but this isn't really a "sin", is it? There are always going to be people that don't like it when a series makes that big of a change.

I have a bad habit of buying new games and abandoning whatever I was already playing, regardless of how much I was enjoying it, so I've never actually completed very many games. I doubt the amount of games I've completed that aren't Mario or Pokemon even add up to the double digits.

I've never played a moment of Halo 2's single-player campaigns, or Halo 3's. Bought 'em for multiplayer, and only ever used H2 even for that.

Played about twenty minutes' worth of Halo1 single-player in co-op up at scout camp. I jokingly referred to Master Chief as 'Master Chef' and then ran with it ('Oooh, he's cookin up trouble for the Covenant! He's serving lead al dente! Hey, pineapple's on the menu, with banana-clips for afters!' etc). Needless to say, my roommate never invited me to play with him again. Sourpuss he was.

For a sizable chunk of my life I did not understand the concept of saving my game. Given the era, that meant I replayed the same first worlds over and over again, never thinking it odd. The idea of getting an ending never even crossed my mind until I was a young adult and by that point the only games I'd beaten were really quick and easy ones or fighting games were you unlock everything by playing a whole bunch.

Now there's autosaving. If only I lived in that time. Maybe I'd have beaten half of the games I played. Maybe. Possibly not.

^Don't be sad, friend. Be happy.

Some of the best games in the world got no save function. I submit 'Metal Slug 3' is the tits, and not a save to be had. No save in 'Super Mario Bros 3', nor in 'Ms Pac-Man'.

Why be sad. Being sad is for dweebs. Go order pizza and watch 'Hudson Hawk' and 'Mortal Kombat: Annihilation' and 'Godzilla 2000'. You'll feel better. You'll have a big happy smile on, I know it. Yeah. Think of cheerleaders, man. They're super-happy, and strong, and tough. Watch the music video for 'Hey Mickey!' whilst eating pizza and sharpening your Milwaukee Fastback and smiling. It's good.

I'm really sick of open-world and sandbox games. Sometimes it does work but in general it isn't refreshing (especially because it's been done to death at this point); it's overwhelming!

Was not expecting a pep talk. Thanks Boo? I will watch Godzilla 2000 next time I get the chance.

Keeping on topic, I'm fairly certain I abused the Pikachu in Hey You Pikachu by using the megaphone on it. Constantly. I don't think I was bad at the game, but it did hinge on Pikachu cooperating and sometimes he really didn't. Especially when Bulbasaur was cooking because saying yes meant the object that's important to the recipe gets scorched while "No" means "Take this inedible object to Bulbasaur for his soup RIGHT NOW". So I yelled at it a lot. With a megaphone. Right next to it.

It all makes sense in Moonside Ochre Woods

i eventually let the chao go because i felt so bad about being so mean to it for no reason

i have held this guilt deep inside me my entire life and it is time i let some of it out

I never used the "Fortify" command in Civilization III for the first year or so I was playing it because 8 year old me had never heard that word and misread it as "Forfeity". For some reason I was okay with the idea that you'd need a hotkey to give up in a turn based game and that they'd put a random 'y' on the end of it.

Eventually someone said the word "fortify" in a totally unrelated context and I realized that, yeah, that probably makes more sense.
